Perfume guide to Paris

Trawling the Internet, a favourite hobby of mine, I was hoping to find a guide for perfume shopping in Paris. Lol and behold, I stumbled upon osmoz and there it was. I couldn't find any web reviews on the book but at 9.90 Euros, it was definitely worth a gamble so an order was put in. It arrived in about 3 weeks and I was initially skeptical, it was slim and small, what wealth of information could it possibly hold?

Thankfully I put my Doubting Thomas aside and launched into it during a quiet afternoon. It breaks up the city of Paris into parts for example, it opens with Chapter one headlining: Opera- Haussman- Saint Honore and under each chapter, it has a list of the notable stores within the area. Each store has its own segment thereafter, which provides useful details such as the address. a contact number and the opening hours. Then follows a short description of the perfume house and some scent recommendations for the visitor.

The thoughtful author, adds in little treats along the book, mindful that people who are perfume fanatics are also usually lovers of other sensory pleasures, namely food. Under "Tasty Address" one has helpful titbits on where to find sustenance within the same area, to take a break and rest one's feet and nose.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first reading and will definitely bring this along as a helpful guide on my next trip to the City of Lights. This book confirmed my plan to live in the sixth arrondissement and I agree fully with Ilias Ermenidis who said, " The beauty of Paris is a source of optimism for the human spirit". I highly recommend this to those who are thinking of making a trip to Paris for perfumes amongst other touristy things of course.

When on the website, do take note of the perfume and flavor kits for sale, I myself am eyeing the complete collection 'Les coulisses du parfum', which promises to help one " discover the main olfactive families and the notes of perfumery, and then immerse yourself into raw materials..." The complete coffret costs 295 Euros and contains:
* 12 emblematic perfumery accords and notes to smell, in 7 ml ( 1/4 -oz.) glass bottles.
* 1 olfactory exploration notebook (40 pages)
* 100 paper strips
(products intended solely for olfaction)

Now I just need to find a spare 300 Euros and I'll be a happy camper! For those who wish to start smaller, the website offers smaller coffrets at 59 Euros each.

* Disclaimer: I am NOT affliated to any of the above websites and/or stores. I am merely a happy and sometimes repeat customer who wishes to share her good luck with the rest of the world! Good things and news should always be shared!
